Hyperglass is a groundbreaking glass-ceramic armor material, developed by Diamond Age for the NIJ’s forthcoming “Rifle 2” specification.  At a density of just 2.45 gm/cc, it offers best-in-class performance against the M855 and similar steel-cored ball rounds.
Comparable to boron carbide in terms of density and performance, but cheaper and easier to produce in near net geometries, Hyperglass is ultimately intended as a replacement for silicon carbide in opaque armor systems — and it can be made transparent for use in visors and vehicular armor.
Release is targeted for Spring 2020.  Contact us for samples and availability details.
